They work together

And it showed, when Three was stuck and could not twist, Six would slide;

and give Three room to slide one of it's pieces to help open;

and the puzzle were solved:

It also happened that Six got stuck and could not slide. Then Three would twist it's piece;

and Six would help by twisting a piece too;

then Three could open;

and the puzzle were solved:

They are very happy working together and they always solves the puzzle. And when there is no difficulty they each can solve the puzzle themselves.

Now they got offsprings too like the symmetrical Seven-Star burr, but that's another story.
